Does Essex offer dog-friendly and cat-friendly apartment homes?
Nearly all of our 250 Essex communities are dog and cat friendly. Please click the Leasing Info tab on the webpage for the specific community you are interested in to view details about individual community’s pet policies.
Does Essex have any size or breed restrictions?
While Essex does not have any size restrictions, the following breeds and crossbreeds are not permitted: Alaskan malamutes, rottweilers, Doberman pinschers, pit bulls, German shepherds, akitas, bullmastiffs, mastiffs, American Staffordshire terriers, Staffordshire terriers, American terriers, bull terriers, and wolf hybrids. These restrictions are subject to change without notice.
How much is a pet deposit, and what does it cover?
The pet deposit for most of our communities can range up to $500, but this may vary at each individual property. Your pet deposit covers any potential damage in your home caused by your pet, which will be determined at the time of move out. There may be an additional deposit required for a second pet. Do I have to pay a monthly fee for my pet?
Yes. Monthly pet fees can range from $45 to $65 per pet and vary by individual community. Please contact your on-site management team for more information and pricing.
